A menstrual cup does not macerate the blood and there is no smell since the blood does not oxidize (no contact with the air).
However, the cut should be rinsed thoroughly between each use and possibly cleaned with soap.
If it is not possible to rinse with clear water for any reason (in a public place for example), it is advisable to wipe with a handkerchief or a tissue intimate and put it back while waiting for be able to rinse it.
